RYA Essential Navigation & Seamanship Course NIGHT SCHOOL - 6 weeks from January 30th 2025

This course offers a great introduction to navigation and safety awareness for new or inexperienced skippers and crew, and those wanting to refresh their skills. In fact it's for anyone interested in sailing, motor boating, sea angling or diving, and works well in complementing our on-the-water training, such as the Powerboat Level 2 and VHF Radio courses,

The informal night school classroom course, face-to-face with an experienced and friendly instructor is a great way to wile away some winter evenings chatting about boats and boating and inspiring you for the boating season ahead. Many find this way of learning more enjoyable and effective than an online course.

Charts and Publications
Safety
Engine checks
Buoyage
Tidal awareness
Visual and electronic navigation
Pilotage
Rules of the road
Anchoring
Weather forecasts
Passage planning

Upon ordering you will receive a course pack through the 1st Class Post, which includes a training chart, plotter, dividers, course handbook, and exercises.

A set of "Joining Instructions" will be sent to you by email at least 2 weeks prior to the course, giving you information about how to find the training centre and what to expect on the course so you can prepare accordingly.

6 Thursday evenings 6.30pm to 9.30pm starting January 30th 2025.

Plenty of free car parking. Refreshments provided.

Age 16+

Maximum of 12 students.

PLEASE NOTE - A minimum of 6 students is required to run this course. If insufficient numbers enrol then the course may be cancelled no later than 24 hours before the planned start date, and full refunds will be given to any who have enrolled.
